The New IQ Of Focus Revitalized My Thinking: From Retirement To Ageless Career Path
Hint: Age Can’t Stop You When You Focus
Time Magazine’s discovery that “Focus is the new IQ” got me out of negative self-talk.
I thought I was a positive thinker, more than most, but when I fell down the stairs of the boat and locked my keys in the car within five minutes, I learned I had an unconscious belief in lack and limitation.
I discovered this while lying on the floor after I missed the bottom three steps going into the boat salon.
I’ve lived on a boat for years and this never happened, but I was hurrying while arguing in my head with someone not even present.
I wasn’t hurt, but I lay there and started sobbing, much like Diane Keaton in As Good As It Gets. This moment of authenticity and vulnerability turned into a release of childhood memories, which led to forgiveness. Soon laughter followed, and ultimately freedom.
My life quickly took off with renewed energy and vitality as I committed to turning my focus to the positive.
